New for 2020, CCM has unleashed the next iteration of the Inline of CCM goalkeeper masks. The CCM Axis A1.9 Senior Certified Cateye Mesh Goalkeeper Mask is an NHL-inspired shell packed with new features and materials aimed at improving comfort and, more importantly, protection.
Starting with the CCM A1.9 shell, a fiberglass shell with carbon fiber reinforcements creates a tough shell designed to protect from impact.
Internally, you'll see various materials that are strategically placed to provide the highest level of protection available. Smart D3O material is seen in almost every other piece of CCM gear and is designed to dissipate impact energy in key areas. Also, in the internal padding is IQShion Gel, which is a comfortable memory foam liner with soft contour edges to make this helmet comfortable for the goalie.
Wrapping around the internals, a mesh construction sweatband is comfortable on the goalie's head. Further down, a triple-density foam chin cup with D3O helps with shock absorption and comfort.
Finally, the grille is made of stainless steel and provides high-impact protection for pucks that might hit this area.
