New for 2022, CCM is revamping its Inline protection tacks. Backed by science, Tacks protection has been tested and validated in the renowned CCM laboratory to ensure quality and functionality. With updates in the design, protection and comfort aspects, the CCM Tacks AS-V Senior Hockey Shin Guards are designed to offer elite protection and improve mobility.
Starting with the ball joints on the Tacks AS-V, there's a pro-level JDP cap construction with D30 smart material protection on the inside plus a protective comfort donut. This cap is designed to disperse impact force away from the knee joint, while the D30 helps absorb shock and impact. For added padding and comfort there is the knee donut, which will help keep the knee in place and offer optimal comfort.
Just above the AS-V's kneecaps is a compressed molded EVA foam flexmotion thigh protector. This high-quality foam offers pro-level protection, and the flexible motion construction helps keep you mobile without interfering with your hockey pants.
Going down to the shin, the Tacks AS-V Shin Guards feature an anatomically fit PE shin guard that provides players with pro-level protection and durability. Additionally, there is a tape slot that allows players to lock the hockey tape keeping the pads stable throughout the game. Along with the shin guard is an abrasion resistant lower pad with D30 smart material. This reinforced bottom protects against impacts and adds durability against scuffing inside.
In the calf area of the Tacks AS-V shin guards, CCM incorporated an exposed injection molded calf with D30 draft block protection. This heavy-duty, premium exposed calf protector uses D30 smart material for superior shock and impact absorption, giving you elite-level protection against shots and strikes to the calf area.
Keeping everything secure are the Adaptfit straps that include a length-adjustable double calf strap plus a padded Hyper X Lock strap. This adjustable strap will help the shin guards wrap any size calf comfortably, while the Hyper Lock X strap keeps them snug and in place throughout your game.
Inside the Tacks AS-V shin guards is where you'll find CCM's removable Adaptfit liner. This removable bottom liner will offer a perfect custom fit if you prefer to wear your skate tabs inside.
